Job Description:

MGS Manufacturing Group is a global company focused on precision plastic injection molding that has achieved remarkable success. As a part of our growth, we are looking for a Estimating Manager. The Estimating Manager serves as a business partner to sales and operations to provide support and leadership in the RFQ process. Coordinates and establishes sound budgeting, forecasting, estimating, and reporting tools and procedures during the quoting phase to ensure profitability of all projects.

Below are the essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage Estimating Department.
  • Formalize RFQ process and supporting documentation.
  • Perform contract review.
  • Manage price escalation SOP and reporting of price adjustment impact.
  • Oversee tracking and reporting of quoting volume and win/loss analytics.
  • Developing, evaluating, and improving estimating methods by gathering information and analyzing metrics.
  • Collaborate with the business development team to determine and execute the best strategies for winning new projects.
  • Compares estimates to actual costs to determine accuracy of quotes and implement corrective actions to prevent estimating shortfalls going forward in future RFQ’s.
  • Assesses the equipment, labor, raw material purchased components, packaging and other requirements needed to provide information for management decisions.
  • Conduct a thorough deal review and analysis of all RFQ’s.
  • Perform sales analysis and effectively manage sales forecast data and identify trends or gaps and provide information for management decisions.
  • Oversee accurate reporting of data in Salesforce.
  • Calculates COGS and profit margin
  • Effectively work with Engineering, Operations, and Estimators to determine lead times.
  • Continuously increase knowledge of company products, services, and procedures.
  • Provide effective leadership and training to accomplish the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Develop staff with focus on both professional and personal development.
  • Develop and maintain positive employee relations.
  • Complete ad hoc projects and reporting
  • Any other duties as assigned

Experience and Skills:

A qualified candidate would fulfill these requirements:

  • Minimum of seven years of experience in either an estimating or financial analyst capacity.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of standard costs systems in a manufacturing environment; experience in plastics injection molding is a plus.
  • Process improvement mindset with successful initiatives resulting in improvement to business processes.
  • Significant leadership responsibility and hands-on involvement in estimating.
  • Engineering and/or machined part training or experience.
  • Process improvement mindset with successful initiatives resulting in improvement to business processes.
  • Advanced to expert skills in Microsoft Suite.
  • Salesforce experience a plus.
