Job Description:

As part of the MGS Group of Companies, MGS Antioch is looking for a 1st shift Material Handler for its injection molding facility located in Antioch, IL.  The Material Handler ensure presses are ready for start-ups by preparing the specified materials, cleaning the equipment, and removing any remaining materials.

Below are the essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Reads BOM or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
  • Picking and setting of Raw Materials and Packaging for Manufacturing.
  • Movement of Components from Inventory for Assembly.
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels or marks information on cases, bundles, barrels, gaylords, boxes, dryers, etc. 
  • Ensure integrity of materials are maintained to avoid mixing/contamination. 
  • Counts, weighs, and verifies raw materials.
  • Loads, unloads and cleans grinders, dryers and conveying equipment.  Ensure machinery is cleaned properly to avoid contamination.
  • Responsible for preventive maintenance on equipment, as assigned.
  • Required to troubleshoot material loading problems.
  • Be able to use a lift truck to bring material and packaging supplies to the machines.
  • Assist the Quality department in containment of all materials and finished goods which need inspection or applicable rework.  Locate non-conforming material in the QA Hold area.
  • Keeps areas around grinders, gaylords, dryers, etc. clean and orderly.
  • Report any occurrences of non-conformities to their immediate supervisor.
  • Observe and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

 

Experience and Skills:

A qualified candidate would fulfill these requirements:

  •  High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous manufacturing experience within a warehouse setting
  • Experience working independently.
  • Computer skills with prior knowledge of Inventory Management systems
  • Ability to drive a forklift
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to multi-task
