Job Description:

General Responsibilities:

Qualification for this position is predicated not only on satisfactory performance of essential duties as outlined below, but also on compliance with general company policies and procedures. Employees assigned to this position must communicate assignment progression to their supervisor by performing the following essential tasks/duties and responsibilities and any other duties as assigned.


Essential Tasks/Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Able to perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Able to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
  • Perform general and preventive maintenance work on shop equipment.
  • Troubleshoot general operational problems
  • Disassemble and reassemble repaired and replacement parts on equipment.
  • Knowledge and usage of testing devices
  • Able to work with tight tolerances
  • General facility maintenance and upkeep
  • Building repair
  • Replace electrical fuses & switches; install & replace lighting equipment.
  • Assist with the moving, relocation and installation of equipment
  • Responsible for moving and storing hazardous and non-hazardous materials
  • Schedule routine and special maintenance of company trucks
  • Maintain or exceed production standards through organization and planning
  • Follow and comply with safety rules, regulations and work instructions
  • Accurately complete required documentation
  • Able to use hand and power tools: able to fabricate on the fly as needed.
  • Understanding of basic electricity
  • Assist in all areas as needed

Education and/or Experience and Training:

Completion of high school diploma or GED equivalent along with technical training: exposure to high-speed equipment and 2+ years of related experience with production machines preferred.


Language Skills:

Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate the English language in a proficient manner; written and verbal communication skills.


Computer Skills:

Good understanding and ability to perform tasks and create documents using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.


Math Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and perform advanced mathematical functions using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals in both English and Metric systems required. Compute rate, ratio, percent and interpret bar graphs.

Good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, decipher wire colors, operate equipment and read technical information.


Must have ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, and move) up to 100 lbs.


Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes, or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level can be occasionally loud.
