Job Description:

MGS Mfg. Group has an exciting opportunity for a 3rd shift Process Technician.  The Process Technician communicates assignment progression regarding production process to the supervisor and perform preventative maintenance.

Below are the essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Check production process against documented process, which includes all support equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on production molds such as mold cleans, basic insert changes and proper greasing of tools.
  • Perform set ups on 2-shot tools, rotary strippers, turn table style, spin stacks and robotics.
  • Perform programming functions and troubleshoot robotic/automation systems.
  • Perform set-up and troubleshoot injection molding and basic blow-molding processes.
  • Perform start-up and shut-down procedures.
  • Update process window per procedure when necessary.
  • Perform a viscosity curve, a gate freeze, and 2-shot molding.
  • Trouble shoot valve gate systems and hydraulic systems on tools.
  • Monitor material handlers and provide training to ensure they perform proper set up.
  • Monitor set up technicians and provide training to ensure they do set ups properly.
  • Monitor and update Maxis codes throughout the shift.
  • Fill out tooling status tickets during and at the end of each production run.

  • Any other duties as assigned.


Experience and Skills:

A qualified candidate will possess these requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited two-year technical college program, or a four-year university program in a related field of study.
  • Three to five years’ experience, or accrued on-the-job training and experience.  
  • Lock out/Tag Out, Forklift and Handlift Training. 
  • Basic hydraulic, electrical and troubleshooting experience. 
  • Ability to program a core sequence on a tool.
