The Quality Assurance Manager is a senior level position responsible for establishing and reviewing process controls, emphasizing customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and waste reduction.  This role plans and directs all quality related functions in the plant to drive a behavioral based quality mindset throughout the facility

As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will..

  • Provide leadership and direction to Quality Engineers and team members within areas of responsibility
  • Set appropriate goals for department staff, which may include quality engineering, document control, quality systems, calibration, CAPA, and complaint handling personnel.
  • Evaluate and enhance quality standards, technologies, and approaches
  • Direct activities and resources to maintain third party registration for the manufacturing and assembly of single and multi-shot plastic parts per IATF-16949 standards, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016 standards, which shall include being the quality management representative on the management review team and overseeing document and data control
  • Monitor and maintain the effectiveness of the Quality Management System
  • Compile monthly KPI reports for quality and take action when goals are not achieved
  • Provide oversight to the CAPA and complaint handling processes, including the quality and timeliness of the reports
  • Lead multifunctional problem-solving activities to resolve complex issues 
  • Understand customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes
  • Manage customer audits and reviews/analyzes data and documentation
  • Devise and review specifications for products or processes
  • Oversee all work instruction standards and procedures to identify deviations from quality standards
  • Maintain accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis
  • Represent the company externally with key customers and suppliers
  • Establish a sustainable culture of continuous improvement
  • Own the Internal Audit Programs
  • Coordinate and direct projects making detailed plans
  • Develop staff with a focus on both professional and personal development
  • Proactively look for opportunities for improvement, put action plans in place, and develop new processes/procedures
  • Assist with preparing budgets as applicable

Experience and Skills:

This might be the job for you if you have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Proven operational excellence experience in a large plastic injection molding environment or medical device manufacturing environment with at least 10 to 15 years of progressive demonstrated success in leading a quality team with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Working knowledge of part layout, SPC, engineering specifications, ISO 13485 and class 8 clean room operations
  • Strong team building, decision making, and people management skills
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, project management and communication skills
  • Ability to create accountability and lead by example
  • Black Belt/6 Sigma Experience is a plus
  • Good understanding and ability to perform tasks and create documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
  • Experience using MRP/ERP systems.
  • Strong quantitative skills, including a thorough understanding and application of statistics.  
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
  • Position may require approximately 15% domestic or international travel to customer sites, business meetings, trade shows, or other MGS plants
