MGS Mfg. Group has an exciting opportunity for a full-time, 1st shift (M-F) Flexible hours, Manufacturing Manager at our Molding facility in Germantown, WI.

The Manufacturing Manager directs development of new production processes, along with continuous improvement of operating efficiencies and provision of technical process support to engineering, manufacturing and tooling

As a Manufacturing Manager you will..

  • Manage a 24/7 operation with up to 75 employees in a medical molding environment
  • Assign, direct, supervise, evaluate, and oversee the training and development of staff.
  • Hire, review, train and mentor staff.
  • Coordinate activities between all shifts.
  • Provide support to all shifts of the business to obtain maximum growth and profitability while ensuring a safe environment as the team’s highest priority at all times.
  • Lead teams using lean manufacturing, problem solving and six sigma tools to reduce scrap, increase productivity and eliminate quality and safety issues.
  • Ensure that the highest standards of quality are maintained.
  • Coordinate and direct projects making detailed plans.
  • Develop long-term plans for new processes and equipment.
  • Facilitate communication between Manufacturing, Engineering, and Tool room. 
  • Assist with preparing budgets when required.
  • Solve complex problems with flow in present manufacturing process.
  • Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for the engineering, technical and production work performed in the company.
  • Direct the development of new production processes.
  • Stay current on new and/or updated technology, manufacturing practices and processes related to the core business.
  • Minimize downtime and increase operating efficiencies through automation, tooling or machine modifications.
  • Provide technical process support to the operations team.
  • Work with team to identify root cause of defects and ensure implementation of corrective actions to address quality concerns.
  • Assess, report, and ensure the timely repair of any safety hazards associated with equipment.
  • May collaborate with customer base at the launch of new jobs and as an ongoing continuous improvement effort on current production jobs.
  • Continuously improve efficiency and accuracy in the manufacturing process and ensure compliance as it relates to ISO/TS/GMP Standards.
  • Incorporate shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant employees.
  • Ensure that the Operations Manager is continuously informed of all activities regarding the various production jobs including any problems, workmanship, and products not meeting the company’s high standards of quality.
  • Observe and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Experience and Skills:

This might be the job for you if you have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.  Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role in manufacturing.
  • Strong team building, decision making, and people management skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, project management and communication skills. 
  • Knowledge in FDA and ISO/QS/TS Quality Systems is preferred.
  • Previous experience/understanding of management principles (budgeting/expense management, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources) is a plus.
  • Expertise within the plastics industry in terms of standards, processes, procedures and equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to create accountability and lead by example.
  • Good understanding and ability to perform tasks and create documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
  • Experience using ERP and/or inventory management systems proficiently
  • Proficient with design software, AutoCAD, or Solidworks is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills
